The
Global Economy was introduced as if it was a new era. It was a scam. Merchants from different countries have been
trading with each other forever, but the bulk of our commerce has been local
and will continue to be local.
After
1945, the US manufactured everything. We established plants in other countries
to manufacture goods to sell in those countries. After 1980, the US sold “old
technology’ overseas as we developed new products for US markets.
After
1993, the US outsourced its manufacturing and called it the “Information Age”.
But the information wasn’t good. We would lose all of our good paying
manufacturing jobs to third world countries and become a third-world country
ourselves.
When the
“Global Market” began to stall and fail, countries reacted with a healthy sense
of nationalism. At the same time, the UN
Muslim Refugee Resettlement program was taking its toll. Voters in Europe and the US had had enough.
Global
companies got their supply chains strengthened during this period of having a
monopoly, but now they will need to adjust to Trump’s policies.
