Things You Should Know,
1/16/17, from Andy Stevens, Anacordes WA Tea Party
"The problems we
face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by
those who vote for a living." "There was a time when common sense and
common decency counted for something. Educators felt a responsibility to equip
students with solid skills that could take them anywhere they
wanted to go in later life -- enable them to
become doctors, engineers or whatever they wanted to be.. Too many of
today's EDUCATORS see students as a captive
audience for them to manipulate and
propagandize.".......THOMAS SOWELL
"During this
election year, we are destined to hear many words that are toxic in the way
they misrepresent reality and substitute fantasies that can win votes. One of
these words is entitlement....Particular
individuals or groups can be given many things, to which politicians say
they are ENTITLED, only if other people are forced by the government to provide those things to people who don't need
to lift a finger to earn them. All the
fancy talk about ENTITLEMENT means simply forcing some people to work to
produce things for other people, who have no obligation to work". THOMAS
SOWELL
"Some people are surprised at how many young people
look favorably on socialism. But
socialism is a wonderful sounding idea. Those who have lived through the era of
its disasters in the 20th century, or learned about them from history, are
likely to see through the appearances to the reality. A young age prevents the
former and our dumbed-down education prevents the latter."...THOMAS SOWELL
Ronald Reagan "The
trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they
know so much that isn't so."
Soviet Leader Nikita
Khrushchev, 1959 "We cannot expect the Americans to jump from Capitalism
to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small
doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism."
John Stuart Mill: May
20, 1806 - May 8, 1873 War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The
decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that
nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is
willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety,
is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so
by the exertions of better men than himself.
Ayn Rand: Atlas Shrugged
-"When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission
from men who produce nothing; when you see that money is flowing to those who
deal not in goods, but in favors; when you see that men get rich more easily by
graft than by work and your laws no longer protect you against them, but
protect them against you..... You know that your society is doomed".....
AYN RAND
Cicero, 55 BC -- We as a
nation would do well to heed this sage advice provided some 2060 plus years
ago... The budget should be
balanced. The Treasury should be refilled. Public debt should be reduced. The
arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled. The assistance to
foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome fall. People must again learn to
work, instead of living on public assistance.
PASS THIS ON!
Kudos to the Governors
stand with and support the sovereignty of their state and the United States of
America!
