Border Residents want a Wall

MSNBC Shocked Border Residents Say They Want This Controversial Thing

Jay Fielden, Editor-in-Chief of Esquire Magazine, joined the panel of MSNBC’s Morning Joe recently to discuss an upcoming article in his magazine that is surely going to give more than a few Democrats heartburn.

Esquire visited the U.S.-Mexico border to interview residents and get their take on the whole border wall controversy. What they discovered was not what they were expecting – further solidifying the fact liberals have no clue what real people think or what their needs are.

Hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski were thrown off balance when they learned that border residents showed a consensus support for building a wall.

Fielden told the MSNBC hosts, “They said two things, whether they were Hispanic, Anglo, Democrat, Republican, uncommitted, clueless, whatever; they said we want a wall and yet we want it married with compassion toward the people we are trying to keep from jumping over the border.”

When he found out that Hispanics were less sympathetic towards illegal aliens pouring over the border than whites were, Scarborough said, “This is shocking stuff.”

Fielden explained that, “Most of those Hispanics are first-generation and see it as unfair. They came over here the legal way, became citizens, and now have to compete for jobs with those coming across the border on a daily basis.”

Do you think it’s time that Democrats take into account the needs of people who actually live on the border – the ranchers that live in fear of the cartels and human traffickers, the people who don’t even feel safe in their own homes because of the violence coming from the criminals who feel free to cross our border at will to commit crimes?

A secure border doesn’t just ensure the safety of the residents, it also protects the Mexicans who are being victimized by the coyotes and the human traffickers. It slows down the flow of illegal drugs and lessens the chance of terrorists using our open border to gain access to this country.

Are you surprised to learn that border residents are in favor of a wall?
