Middle East Mistakes

Our first mistake in the Middle East was sending armies to defeat the Afghans and Iraqis. We should have sent Special Forces to hunt down and take out Osama bin Laden. We should have left Saddam Hussain alone to menace Iran.

There was no reason for the US to invade Afghanistan and Iraq in order to save them from themselves. There was also not reason to rebuild these countries to repair war damages.

But we did send our armies to Afghanistan.  When we went won the Afghan war we should have appointed a General Douglas McArthur to take over and run this country for several years until we could sort out what to do with them.  Having allowed corruption and sovereign chaos to develop, the citizens of Afghanistan should have had no say in what we did.

Knowing that Afghanistan was primarily “tribal”, we should have known that the tribal structure would endure and whatever national government we imposed would fail. We could have totally eradicated terrorism in the middle-east if we had based our forces in these countries and gone after the terrorists.  Knowing that Iran would send terrorists in should have put us at odds with them.

The Arab Spring was a US caused disaster that further strengthened the terrorists.  Backing Assad’s opponents in Syria was a colossal mistake and unleashed the Muslim invasion of refugees into Europe and the US.

The US should have backed the right for Israel to assume its 1967 borders and denounced the Palestinian state. Sharia Law should have never been recognized by any Western countries in Europe or the US or anywhere else.
