COSP hasn't won ANY States so far this year.  Neither has the BBA gang.  Or Wolf PAC.  Term Limits has won 1 or 2 States, but since they had already passed the COSP or BBA (or both) applications, it didn't matter.

Publius Hulda is an Attorney from Tennessee and is the Constitutional Scholar who initiated the resistance to calling for an Article V Convention.

Eagle Forum was founded by Conservative Leader, Phyllis Schlafly Chris Owen has led the fight in State by State votes to defeat this petition and has kept us informed via email.

From 2014 to 2017, 12 States have voted to petition Congress to authorize the “Article V Convention including Alaska, Arizona, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

22 States have rejected the Article V Convention of States as of 5/12/18.  A total of 34 States have voted so far.  A total of 18 States have not yet voted on this petition. If all 18 remaining States vote to petition Congress, the total would be 30 States and that already falls short of the 34 States or 2/3s of States required.  It looks like this bad idea will not pass, but these petitions have “eternal life” and State legislatures could resurrect the beast.

The 5000 independent Tea Party organizations and hundreds of Constitutional organizations throughout the US have sided against the Article V petitions, because it puts the US Constitution in danger of being replaced by delegates who would be appointed by the State Legislatures.

Amendments need to be initiated by Congress and ratified by the States to avoid a “bum’s rush” to tyranny. This Article V scam would have authorized a real Constitutional Convention with “new founders” who cannot be trusted.

Norb Leahy, Dunwoody GA Tea Party Leader
