US Tariff Strategy

Trump wants to reduce the US Trade Deficit from $566 billion by at least $100 billion. Trump is identifying trade imbalances by country and China is the biggest target. Trump established a 25% tariff on steel imports and a 10% tariff on aluminum imports to comply with DOD requirements.

Trump is also calling out big, unnecessary tariffs like Germany’s 25% tariff on US manufactured cars to get them to reduce it to 2.5%, the US tariff on imported cars. Germans don’t buy many US cars anyhow. They prefer German cars.

Trump correctly states that he wants other countries to put their people first too. China has been busy reducing their imports of pork and has been building large pork farms and Trump would agree with that.

Countries are identifying commodities to propose tariffs on to have leverage in the great tariff-fest. Individual companies, industries and industry associations are scrambling to cover their bets.

In the end, countries will reach commodity-independence and get new trading partners closer to home. Politicians are being attacked by their campaign contributors and puppet masters. The UN globalist crowd is not happy, but individual countries are fully engaged without the help of the UN globalists.

The companies who gave away their intellectual property to China are screwed.
