But not in a good way.
They are impossible to
believe. The things they espouse are unbelievable, beyond
belief, hard to believe, unconvincing, far-fetched, implausible, improbable, highly
unlikely, dubious and doubtful.
The AJC 7/29/18 page
D1 article “Find your passion? Bad advice experts say, by Tara Bahrampour at
the Washington Post reports “findings” by “Psychologists” at Stanford, Yale-NUS
Singapour. The “experts” concluded that it’s too hard to find a job in line with
their passions and they should be “open-minded” and switch to STEM
courses. The “experts’ tested 470
undergraduate “arts and humanities” students to consider STEM jobs instead of
their chosen majors and when they failed they diagnosed them with “fixed mindset”
syndrome and ordered them to be more “open-minded”.. They made up that label to
describe people who think intelligence is fixed and can’t be expanded.
This is a good example
of “academic” fake science where you start with the conclusion you are told to
reach and struggle to get that answer. I
guess we just need more funding for these “research” grants, because we will
just need to keep testing these students until we start getting them to obey.
The Liberals who
brought this bit of “wisdom” to us include liberal universities, the liberal
Washington Post and the liberal Atlanta Journal.
These Liberal
Academics are responsible for their own dilemma. They offered fake curriculum
and propaganda to get these students to take propaganda courses and now they
have Silicon Valley wanting them to turn them into math-heads. The schools had their chance to do that years
ago and they failed. They also failed to let the students develop good
judgment, so they would be programmed into believing the propaganda.
These “Psychologists”
will need to use more brutal forms of Skinnerian Operant Conditioning to get
these Snowflakes to man up to learning math. These are the techniques
introduced in the movie “The Manchurian Candidate”.
In defense of doing
what you love, the most successful people actually do what they love. I would
think a “Psychologist” would be familiar with System for Identifying Motivated
Abilities developed by Art Miller in the 1960s.
