The Gulch is an old
railroad yard in downtown Atlanta on MLK Drive, between Spring Street and
Centennial Olympic Drive. It is near the
Five Points MARTA station and Phillips Arena.
There is still freight
train traffic going through the Gulch, but the land around the railroad yard is
bare. The City of Atlanta wants to
pretty-up area around the Gulch with new development to hide the railroad yard
we expect to continue to operate amid the high-rises developers love to build.
The City of Atlanta is
proposing a $1 billion taxpayer funded development plan on the Gulch, to
attract Amazon HQ2. Maybe they should fix their sewer lines first.
Putting the Amazon HQ
in a train yard would be like Trump building a luxury hotel in Haiti.
