Venezuela Economy


In 2018 Venezuela is struggling though the hemisphere's worst economic problems. Economic output in Venezuela fell by 16% in 2016, 14% in 2017, and is expected to drop by 15% this year. Meanwhile, after jumping from 112% in 2015 to 2,400% last year, inflation in Venezuela is expected to hit five-digit levels in 2018.


Venezuela reports a population of 32 million. Land area is 353,841 square miles. Poverty is 87%. Inflation is 1 million %. Ease of doing business 188th.

Government revenues $92.8 billion, spending $189.7 billion.

Crude Oil Production in Venezuela decreased to 1488 BBL/D/1K in January from 1511 BBL/D/1K in December of 2018. Crude Oil Production in Venezuela averaged 2397.41 BBL/D/1K from 1973 until 2019, reaching an all-time high of 3453 BBL/D/1K in December of 1997 and a record low of 594 BBL/D/1K in January of 2003.
