Failing
Black College Students Demand to be Passed Due to Racial Events
If this article comes across as racist, it’s not intended to be that way, but it’s hard to criticize a specific group of people without being taken wrong.

I am sick and
tired of people groups, whether black, illegal Hispanics, American Indian,
Cuban, homosexuals or whatever demanding preferential treatment just because of
who they are and what they feel they are entitled to. Gays demand special
dispensation from everyone because of their perverted lifestyle. Illegals
demand the same rights as citizens when they are nothing more than criminals
who violated our federal laws. American Indians demand preferential treatment
because they were here first, but they fail to realize that they were a
conquered people years ago. Now Cuban immigrants are starting to ask for
special treatment because of how they were so mistreated by the Cuban
government.
Many black
groups have been demanding special treatment because of what happened to them
over a hundred and fifty years ago. Others believe that because they have a
black man (they forget he’s half white) living in the White House that they can
get away with almost anything. They believe that they can break the law and when
they resist arrest that the police shouldn’t be allowed to subdue or defend
themselves.
Black students
at Harvard Law School and Columbia University wanted to have their finals
postponed to a later date because of all of the racial turmoil.
Now a group of
black students at Oberlin College, about half way between Cleveland and
Sandusky, Ohio, deserve to automatically pass all of their classes this
semester because of what happened to Michael Brown and Eric Garner. Several
thousand students at Oberlin signed a petition reading:
“I would really
like to see the normal grading system suspended for this semester and replaced with
a no-fail mercy period. Administrators should require professors to exercise
complete flexibility in what students are saying they can produce
academically.”
“Require that
every professor listen to what their students are saying and if that means rather
than writing a paper students instead meet with their professor to simply
discuss in groups their paper topics or if tests are taken collectively with
professors there are ways to make sure we are learning what we are supposed to
be learning in ways that are not so taxing in times like this.”
“Students in this moment should have complete
access to alternative modes of learning while we process what’s happening.
Basically, no student especially black students and students of color should be
failing a class this semester. A ‘C’ should be the lowest grade students can
receive this semester. Professors should be required to work with students, who
would otherwise be at risk of failing, to create alternate means of accessing
knowledge.”
First of all,
what does any of the Michael Brown and Eric Garner situations have to do with
them? They weren’t involved and in fact, they’re hundreds of miles away from
Ferguson and New York. What makes them so incapable of doing their school work
other than being lazy and looking for someone else to blame it on?
Hey Oberlin
students, wake up and smell the real world. There are always going to be
turmoil and tragedy in all of our lives. There are going to be social strife
because we are all sinners living amongst a world full of other sinners. You
have to learn to deal with it and move on in your life and take responsibility
for your own actions.
It’s not
Michael Brown’s or Eric Garner’s or Darren Wilson’s fault that you are failing
your classes. It’s your own lazy fault for not applying yourself to what you
should be doing.
Let me ask you
this: If an issue like makes you incapable of passing a college course, then
what are you going to do when you get out into the real world and have to work
for a living? Are you going to tell your boss that you just can’t be a
productive employee because of something else going on in other parts of the
country that you have no control over and no part of just because you’re black?
And by the way, Mr. Employer, I demand that you don’t dock my pay or fire me
for not doing my job because it’s someone else’s fault I can’t work, I’m black.
That’s just not
going to happen and you need to get over it. If you want to take a stand and
make a difference, then rise above the racial hatred and make something of
yourself and your life. Stop hating people because of the color of their skin
and work to make America a better place and stop using this racial rhetoric to
excuse your own laziness.
