Our Lost Decade

White House Gets Blowback from Just 1 Word in Jobs Report Tweet

Sometimes the Socialists at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue hand you a comment ripe for spiking back in their faces. Such was the case the other day when the White House touted the most recent jobs report, presumably co-opting the report in a way to infuriate small business owners who have to fight vigorously to succeed against government regulation and taxation.

According to The Blaze:
Conservative social media users were aghast Friday after a post from the White House’s official Twitter account used a phrase that many deemed questionable.

The tweet in question was posted Friday morning — the same day March’s job report was released. It praised the job growth seen during President Barack Obama’s presidency.

“Our businesses have added 14.4 million jobs over the past 73 months—the longest streak ever,” the tweet read, with a link to March’s “employment situation.”

It was the word “our” that sent many users into a frenzy. Even famed conservative commentator Michelle Malkin criticized the account for allegedly taking credit for creating jobs.

Obama sparked a heated controversy toward the end of his first term when he famously quipped in 2012, “you didn’t build that,” in reference to American business owners.

When you see the comments and realize the White House is trying to take credit for what really is a destruction of small business and addition of part-time work by people unable to find full time employment anywhere close to their previous salary.

The White House is either delusional or insincere in attempting to claim ownership in ‘our’ businesses. Either way is disturbing as they attempt to put lipstick on a falling pig of an economy. What do you think? Leave a comment with your thoughts below.

14.4 million jobs divided by 73 months equals 197260 jobs per month.  That number does need to be reduced to full-time equivalent jobs, so if these are 30 hour a week jobs, they are .75 full time equivalent jobs.  197260 times .75 equals 147945.  That’s closer to what I remember.  But I also remember that most of the jobs created were government jobs.  I also remember that we imported at least over 14.4 million immigrants over the same period of time, so no jobs were created for US citizens during that period.  So, an equal number went on welfare during this period. This has been our lost decade.
