The Founders based their
world-view on the writings of a small group of philosophers whose views were
most compatible with human nature. The
earliest of these was Cicero. Marcus Tullius Cicero was
a Roman politician and lawyer, who served as consul in the year 63 BC. He came
from a wealthy municipal family of the Roman equestrian order, His quotes
are as follows:
Marcus Tullius Cicero was a Roman who lived
from 106 BC to 43 BC. His writings were
preserved and our Founders read and endorsed his observations and conclusions.
