Obama-tage

Dear CNN: Obama’s DOJ Deleted 500K Fugitives From Gun Background Check System — Is That News? By Doug Giles, 3/17/18, Clash Daily
What happened to ‘If it just saves one life…’? Could this unbelievably stupid move have COST lives? Check out the 411…

The background check system is only as good as the data that it has in it. We saw that it was government agencies and Broward County school policies that failed to raise the red flags that would have prevented the Parkland shooter from buying his gun legally. And now there is a national debate on gun-control fueled by gun-grabbing leftist activists and teens that (apparently) eat Tide Pods.

It appears that the DOJ under Obama forced the FBI to remove 500,000 people with outstanding arrest warrants
from the federal National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

That is what the acting FBI deputy director David Bowdich testified after a question from Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday.
Here is the exchange:

FEINSTEIN: It’s my understanding that under federal law fugitives cannot legally purchase or possess guns. We’ve heard from local law enforcement that the Justice Department has issued a memo that forced the FBI NICS background check database to drop more than 500,000 names of fugitives with outstanding arrest warrants because it was uncertain whether those fugitives had fled across state lines. Mr. Bowdich, can you describe why this determination was made by the Justice Department?

BOWDICH: That was a decision that was made under the previous administration. It was the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel that reviewed the law and believed that it needed to be interpreted so that if someone was a fugitive in a state, there had to be indications that they had crossed state lines. Because you can’t be a fugitive if you’re just on the lamb in the same state.

So, if there is an outstanding warrant against an individual and that individual doesn’t cross state lines, they won’t be registered on NICS and can legally buy a gun.

No, no it didn’t. Watch the exchange: Acting FBI deputy director David Bowdich says Obama's DOJ forced the deletion of 500,000 fugitives from the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) which is used to conduct background checks on gun buyers.

I’m beginning to think that the Obama-era DOJ were fugitives from reason. And they don’t need to cross state lines to prove it.

Riddle me this, Tide Pod eating and gun-grabbing activists,  why, oh, why, are you demanding that the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners are to be curtailed but you’ve said nothing about the Democrat policies and specifically the Obama Administration’s dereliction of duty when it comes to enforcing existing control on guns?

Might I suggest a more apropos locale for that ‘March For Our Lives’ in Washington to in front of Barry’s house? It’s easy to find. It has a nifty, brand new wall in front of it.
