US Education Bureaucracy

In 2016 the DOE had 4400 employees and a budget of $68 billion. When Trump was elected and Betsy DeVos was appointed, I expected the budget to be cut in half to “starve the beast”. That hasn’t happened.

In 1999 Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt published The Deliberate Dumbing Down of US Education and warned us about the damage the government was doing to the quality of US education.

I believe Trump and DeVos should have closed the US DOE and given it to the States. Instead, they have become mired in the bureaucracy narrative. The US DOE is riddled with UN infiltrators and until they are gone, we will continue to blow $billions on this scam.
The 2018 DOE Budget cut $9 billion in redundant programs and added more to other programs.

The 2019 DOE Budget is $62.3 billion, down from $68 billion in 2016.

I would prefer the repeal of all US education laws like ESSA and the closure of all
Congressional committees dealing with US education.

I would prefer that the States delegate the entire responsibility for funding public schools to the counties.

In 2018, federal funding for research grants to US universities totaled $118 billion vs $148 billion in 2016.

I would prefer the continued reductions of these grants in 2019 and beyond. Universities can get their revenue for research grants from private companies.
