GA GOP Conventions Start Feb 7

Over the past several years, you and I have witnessed a Republican-dominated legislature that passed one bad bill after another.
Whether it was the massive "T-SPLOST" tax hike, the used car tax hike (TAVT), or the so-called "hospital bed tax," Republicans have behaved like statist Democrats, and at the heart of this betrayal is an apologetic "leadership" team at the Georgia GOP.

I'm sure you've heard the claim for years that "now that we
have a Republican majority, things will get much better at the
Capitol in Atlanta." Far too often you see members of the political class promise
they will do a good job and then turn around and betray you.

Accountability is sorely lacking within political parties, but
you and I can take action to help "right this ship" and force the political class to do what they were sent to do.

But to do this, you must get involved where the party bosses do not want you. . .  inside the party, choosing principled
leadership.

Join us this Saturday, February 7th at 9:00 a.m., for your
local GOP mass precinct meeting.

Please keep in mind that Georgia Taxpayers United is not a
partisan organization.  We respect your right to belong to the
party of your choice (or to choose not to belong to a party for
that matter.)

Our goal is to advance the cause of personal freedom and
limited government.  Please keep that in mind as you read the rest of this email.

In March, your county convention will be held, and the mass
precinct meeting this Saturday is your "ticket" to the county
convention. If you make it to the county convention you will be able to elect good leadership that is committed to the defense of liberty.
Through your efforts, leaders can be forced to only promote
principled candidates and not make excuses for members of the political class who promote bad policy.

There is nothing more demoralizing than leaders who waste your time, trying to convince you to support a bad candidate – or worse yet, shame you into thinking we should not hold them accountable.

This year, more than one candidate is vying for State Party
Chair.  Each of them seeks to lead the party, so this convention cycle is the perfect time to question how they would lead.

Plan to run for one of your precinct's officer positions and to
attend your county convention.

Bring a friend and ask tough questions of anyone running for a party position.

The doors will open for registration at 9:00 a.m. and the
meeting will start promptly at 10:00 a.m.

Conventions are the best opportunity to replace bad leaders
with good leaders.

Make an impact just by showing up and participating - or better yet, become one of the new leaders in your district.

Even if you're not a precinct officer, you can still be elected
as a delegate to your county convention.  Doing so means you can have an impact in 2016.

There is no better time to be involved in local party politics,
and Georgia Taxpayers United has you covered.

For freedom,

Nathan Adams, President
Georgia Taxpayers United
