In 2002, Development became a separate Department within
DeKalb County Government. In early 2006, the Department of Planning
& Development was created by merging the Planning and Development
Departments. In February, 2011, the department name was changed to
the Department of Planning and Sustainability. For questions about

inspections or land development please contact the DeKalb County Department
of Planning and Sustainability.
The DeKalb County Water and Sewer Department is no longer a division within the DeKalb County Public Works Department. For more information, please visit their website HERE.
