Power off the Grid

Wind, and solar power is still too expensive to build and the costs of generating electricity are still over 14 cents per kwh. Power companies have no justification for adding these into their systems. Geo-thermal systems are also expensive to set up, but don’t depend on the wind blowing and the sun shining and are worth exploring where this is available.

Wind, power and geo-thermal do offer private owners the opportunity to generate their own electricity off the grid.  This is a good alternative for a large farm or ranch and the initial costs should be considered as a business expense. Gas powered generators are commonly included in the cost.

These are also often the best power generators for remote areas and undeveloped villages that need power to operate water wells and other uses.
