The

1 California 38,802,500 163,696

I would look for
population declines in California due to taxes and no water, New York due to
high taxes and cold weather and Illinois due to high debt, taxes and cold
weather.
In this period of global
cooling that started 10 years ago, Northern States should not fare as well as
Southern States. Texas, Georgia and North Carolina should fare well. Florida is a “tourist destination”.
The US has a population
of 325 million occupying 3.8 million square miles. If the Western states can
take back their “federal lands” and get more water, they will do better. If
Alaska gets to drill more oil and run a water pipeline to the Western states,
they will do very well.
