This
military alliance was set up to protect Europe from Soviet aggression after
1945. We don’t need to pull out of NATO, but it’s time to ask Europe who they
are. Are they still sovereign nations or
are they going to be states that are subject to the laws passed by the European
Union?
The
Brexit vote indicated that the UK was leaving the EU to recapture their
sovereignty.
Will
European countries continue to subjugate their own sovereignty? Should NATO protect Europe from Islamic
terrorism? Is the NATO agreement void
because it included separate countries that now seem to be merging? Europe needs to choose whether or not to
recapture their sovereignty or not.
I would
back NATO until we can figure out what it has become and where we want it to go
based on real threats and oppose the continuation of the EU and the UN as it is
currently functioning. It is clear that
the UN needs to stop challenging the sovereignty of its member countries.
