8,582,608 acres of
forest land in the US were destroyed by forest fires that occurred in 2018.
The 10 year average
for 2008 to 2018 is reported as 6,571,242 acres per year. The total acres lost
over that past 10 years is about 66 million acres.
As of 1/28/19, the
report for 2018 ends at December 21, 2018. Until this website is updated, I can
only assume that the 2018 fire festival ended on 12/21/18, just in time for the
Annual Mud Slide Festival.
The media fails to
report the data above on these annual forest fires, because all media outlets
are owned by Socialists, who want to preserve the myth that our government is
doing a good job.
You may see articles
that claim that the forest fires are caused by people, campers, brush burners
and power companies, but this is liberal “cover”.
Liberals don’t want to
answer questions about why to 1000 privately owned forests do not have these
fires. The answer is that these tree
farms are maintained, trees are harvested, brush is cleaned out and the owners
live on the property. If lightning strikes and causes a fire, the owners are
out in minutes hosing down the fire before it spreads.
Most of the large
destructive forest fires in the US are due to poor maintenance by
government. These forests are in
National and State Parks and Wildlife Refuges that are too big to monitor or
maintain.
My conclusion is that
all of these government forest lands need to be sold to families who want to
run their own tree farms.
This should get
support from State and Local politicians, because this land would go back on
the tax register and would grow the private sector economy.
