Opportunities Hiding in Plain Site

High School grads who are not going to college need to have a plan to earn enough to become self-supporting.

You could own your own businesses. If you own a lawnmower and a truck and have a customer, you own a business. If you like cutting grass, you can get more customers. If you charge $50 and cut 4 yards a day, you can make $200 a day. If you do this 5 days a week, you can make $50,000 a year for cutting 1000 yards a year if you have 40 customers.

To supplement your income in the winter months, you can expand your lawn service by trimming shrubs and clearing weeds and all you need is a hand trimmer.  If you buy a low-boy trailer you can deliver and spread pine straw and bags of mulch, peat moss and top soil to fill in low spots in the yard.  If you buy an electric chain saw you can trim tree limbs. If you buy a wood shredder, you can offer to shred your customers fallen tree limbs into mulch. If you buy a ladder, you can clean gutters. If you buy an electric blower, you can remove leaves.

If you keep your expenses down and work out of your house you can keep your prices lower than the competition and raise demand for you services.
