State of Georgia 2020 Budget

Georgia ranked 9th largest state economy in 2018 at $602 billion, with a population of 10.5 million.

The 2020 budget for the State of Georgia is $27.5 billion and covers from 7/1/19 to 6/30/20.
K-12 education $10.7 billion
Healthcare $5.0 billion
Higher education $3.2 billion
Transportation $2.0 billion
Corrections $1.2 billion
Government $1.2 billion
Debt Service $1.2 billion
Other Public Services $971 million
Human Services $825 million

The 2020 budget for the State of Georgia also includes $14.4 billion in Federal Grants to States.
$8.0 billion for Medicaid, Peach Care and health care
$2.5 billion for education, which includes school nutrition programs, services for low-income students and support for students with disabilities
$1.6 billion for the Georgia Department of Transportation
$1.5 billion for human services, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and child welfare

Government spending in Georgia that includes both State and Federal funds totals $48.6 billion in the 2020 Budget.

$16.4 billion goes to public education, $13 billion goes to healthcare, $4.5 billion goes to welfare. $3.6 billion goes to transportation, $1.2 billion goes to bureaucrats and $1.2 billion goes to bankers.

Education and Healthcare are overfunded and underperforming and these need to be transferred to the private sector to restore free market, supply and demand with consumer control over prices.  Welfare is being replaced by restoring the US economy with manufacturing and energy extraction jobs.  Government responsibility for individuals needs to be restored to families and communities.  Public transportation needs to be privatized
Roads and highways need to be taken over by local city, county and State governments. Federal grants for States need to continue to be reduced.
