The Problem with the Pope

Pope Francis is sowing confusion and division in the Church, and he has made no headway in reforming the Vatican's dysfunctional bureaucracy or resolving the sex abuse scandals. Instead, the Pope is laser-focused on advancing a radical agenda at odds with Church doctrine and marginalizing anyone who gets in his way.

That's what Philip F. Lawler, editor of Catholic World News, argues in his bold new book Lost Shepherd: How Pope Francis Is Misleading His Flock.

Pope Francis "is engaged in a deliberate effort to change what the Church teaches," Lawler warns.
"We have grown accustomed to looking to Rome for guidance. Now we cannot."

If Catholics around the world cannot count on clear
directions from Rome, where can they turn? In Lost Shepherd, Lawler gives loyal believers sound counsel on how to navigate the "crisis of Catholicism" wrought by Pope Francis. With comforting assurances about the immutability of Church doctrine and careful analysis of Pope Francis's most troubling actions—including the Pope's marginalization of dissenters in the Vatican, the College of Cardinals, and the world's major sees—Lost Shepherd is essential reading for any thoughtful Catholic concerned about this divisive pontiff.

"Philip Lawler has written the best researched and most carefully argued book to date on this controversial papacy," says Robert Royal, Ph.D., president of the Faith & Reason Institute.

Lost Shepherd: How Pope Francis Is Misleading His Flock is available now in bookstores everywhere.

I have posted about this several times.  Pope Francis rode in on the coat tails of the globalism of UN Agenda 21 in 2013 with the retirement of Pope Benedict XVI.  He lived in Argentina and became comfortable with socialism. His predecessors didn’t share his world-view and were active anti-Communists. Pope Francis came from the stealthy liberal political wing of the Catholic Church who were not critical of UN Agenda 21 or the prospect of a global government, He appears to support all of the UN’s dangerous sovereignty wrecking, economy-killing, freedom-sapping scams.

We have had bad Popes in the past and have survived. But we need to work on giving the clergy a better education to support free market capitalism and voter controlled government. Archbishop Charles J Chaput OFM of Philadelphia PA needs to teach the course.
