Comments

Land area is a good metric, because it prompts questions when it is high and GDP is low. Most low GDP countries with high land area are mismanaged. Some like Russia and Canada are stymied with half their land area in permafrost. Others don’t have a private sector or private property right protections and therefore little investment. Many don’t have clean water or sanitation.
