How
much can corporations give to a political campaign?
$5,000
to a candidate or candidate committee for
each election (primary and general elections count as separate
elections); $15,000 to a political party per year; and. $5,000 to
another PAC per year.
These expenses on behalf
of a candidate are limited to $1,000 per election; expenses on behalf
of a political party are limited to $2,000 per year. Any amount spent
in excess of the limits is a contribution to
the candidate or party committee.
Although an individual
may contribute up to the primary
limit to a publicly
funded presidential primary candidate, only
a maximum of $250 of each individual's contribution is counted
towards federal matching funds.
