The
American Indian Wars lasted from 1622 to 1924 and resulted in the expansion of
land for colonists and US citizens and the establishment of US Indian
Reservations.
The French Indian War
lasted from 1754 to 1763 and resulted in the expansion of land from the
original British American Colonies to the Mississippi River.
The American Revolutionary
War lasted from 1775 to 1783 and resulted in independence for the Colonies to
establish the United States of America in 1789.
The Louisiana Purchase in
1803 resulted in the expansion of land from the Mississippi River to the
Pacific Ocean. The US paid France $15 million for the land.
The Texas War of
Independence from Mexico 1835-1836 resulted in the establishment of the
Republic of Texas became a State in 1845.
The Mexican American War
1846-1848 resulted in the land expansion of the US into what are now the States
of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Wyoming. The US
paid Mexico $15 million for the land.
The Civil War 1861-1865
resulted in the abolishment of slavery and the reunification of Northern and
Southern States. The Confederate States included Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas,
Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Texas.
The US
funded its Federal Government with land sales, fees, duties and Tariffs from
1789 to 1913. The US economy was a family-based meritocracy with free market
capitalism and strong private property rights. Government owned land was
limited to military bases and government offices in the US Constitution.
