Israel Strikes in Hamas in Quatar 9-13-25

Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel ordered 15 Israeli Fighter Jets to bomb the Hamas HQ in Doha, Quatar on 9-9-25 in retaliation for Hamas Terror Attack

Based on news reports, no Hamas terrorist attack against Tel Aviv occurred today, September 11, 2025. However, the date was marked by other significant events involving Israel and Hamas:

  • Israeli strike in Qatar: On September 9, Israel conducted a surprise rocket strike targeting Hamas's leadership in Doha, Qatar. The attack failed to kill the Hamas leaders, but killed five Hamas-associated people and a Qatari security agent. In response to the strike, Israeli President Isaac Herzog stated on September 11 that Israel was ready for a "complete deal" to end the war, despite the previous day's events.
  • Ongoing war context: The strike was the latest action in Israel's long-running campaign against Hamas, which has been ongoing since the militant group's October 7, 2023, attack.
  • Terror attack in Jerusalem: On September 8, just days prior, a shooting attack at a Jerusalem bus stop killed six people and injured others. Israeli authorities said the gunmen were Palestinians, and while Hamas did not claim responsibility, it issued a statement welcoming the attack.

Multiple recent news reports state that there was no Hamas terrorist attack against Tel Aviv today, September 11, 2025. However, there have been several other significant events in the region, including an Israeli strike against Hamas in Qatar and recent attacks in other parts of Israel.

Key events on or around September 11, 2025:

  • Israeli strike in Qatar: On September 9 and 10, Israel launched airstrikes in Doha, Qatar, targeting the headquarters and residences of senior Hamas political leaders. The attack did not kill any senior Hamas officials but resulted in the deaths of five other individuals, including a Qatari security officer.
  • Netanyahu defends Qatar strike: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the strike, stating that Hamas leaders no longer have immunity anywhere.
  • Reaction to the Qatar strike: The attack was seen as a sharp escalation that threatened to derail ongoing cease-fire negotiations for Gaza. Qatar, a key mediator, was reportedly surprised by the attack.
  • Jerusalem shooting: On September 8, Palestinian gunmen killed six people and injured at least 12 in a shooting at a bus stop in occupied East Jerusalem.
  • Recent Tel Aviv rocket fire: In March 2025, Hamas fired rockets at Tel Aviv, reportedly the first time since the collapse of a previous cease-fire.
  • Houthis attack Israeli airport: On September 7, a drone launched by the Houthis in Yemen hit an Israeli airport's arrivals hall. The Houthis claimed the attack was in solidarity with Palestinians.

Quatar has played both sides in the Hamas v Israel war. Quatar has housed the top Hamas leaders and brokered cease fire and peace talks between Hamas and Israel. These efforts have failed to achieve the return of the Israeli Hostages.

The air strike occurred in Quatar and Trump is concerned that this strike in Quatar will weaken his plans to advance the Abraham Accords and achieve the final Hostage releases.
