Christians abandon America? Exclusive:
Joseph Farah reveals only way to find national salvation and healing
Is
it time for Christians to throw up their hands and give up on America?
As the nation drifts further and further from its historic and
authentic Christian roots, what should the position of believers be?
As one intriguing letter I received recently suggested: “Our
allegiance is misplaced in America, is it not? Our effort to reform, redeem and
save America is misplaced, is it not? Is it not necessary that America decline
and fall so that God’s Kingdom can be established? So what are Christians to
do?”
Are we to retain allegiance in “Obamerica” or the
ObamaNation, as Jerome Corsi’s No. 1 New York Times bestseller called it
somewhat prophetically back in 2008?
He cited, among other developments, the unbiblical, anti-God
capitulation to “same-sex marriage,” which I will continue to place in quotes
because it is an oxymoron. He suggested that we should disobey illegal or
immoral executive and judicial orders, “but let us do so silently.”
I don’t believe that is entirely scriptural thinking.
Peter and Paul gave their reasons for not obeying the edicts
of men in a peaceful way when they conflicted with God’s commandments. That’s
the example for us to follow as America moves toward judgment and the wrath of
God.
Nations will ultimately be judged when the King returns
according to how they treated the brethren – Israel.
I do agree with the correspondent that America is under
judgment. But that judgment is not complete. I believe followers of Jesus
should prepare for the worst but follow the prescription He gives to believers
for times such as this.
As I have written many times before, I believe II Chronicles
7:14 applies to us today – even right here in America.
Solomon had just dedicated the Temple to God, who was
speaking to Him clearly. While God was pleased with the Temple, he gave
instructions to Solomon as to what His people should do when they begin to see
evidence of God’s judgment on the land: “If I shut up heaven that there be no
rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence
among my people;” he said before giving His well-known prescription for how to
renew God’s favor.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then
will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land,”
God said.
The way we are instructed to “reform” our nation is for
believers to follow that instruction: His people, who are called by His
name (not the heathen), need to humble themselves and pray and seek His face
and turn from our wicked ways. If we do that, I believe the promise that
follows will be answered: he will hear our prayers, forgive our sin and heal
our land.
I’ve said and written many times over recent years that I
don’t think we will find national salvation and healing through politics. I
gave up on that idea a long time ago.
But, we are not instructed to just wait on the King to
address every need. We’re instructed to worship Him and pray fervently and in
humility. Most of all, believers are told to turn from their sinful
ways, rather than merely point out the cinders in the eyes of their neighbors.
That’s what His people are instructed to do.
We are specifically told not to simply wait on the coming
King to straighten out the mess. Nor are we to wait on the rapture.
If His people, in America, were to follow the II Chronicles
7:14 prescription, amazing things could still happen, even though we are
already under judgment. That’s what God clearly told Solomon, and, if we are
truly adopted into that covenant through the blood of Jesus, which I know we
are, it follows that it’s never too late for this kind of revival.
But God’s waiting for His people to respond.

We Americans are as guilty as the Germans
during Hitler’s Nazi regime. We voters
ignored our governments’ abandonment of the US Constitution and became
vulnerable to systemic corruption. We
have gone from being the most capable country in the world with the strongest
free market economy to a bankrupt, failing Socialist Dictatorship. We are obstructed from ridding ourselves of
this corruption by the Marxist elected officials who have infiltrated our
government in order to destroy it. Democrats
have exposed themselves to be the Marxists and Republicans have exposed
themselves to be the Enablers.
