Sloppy Government

Government refuses to assume control over their fixed, assigned responsibility for specific expenditures.  City governments want the County, State and federal governments to pay for City infrastructure.  If the infrastructure is in the City, the City should raise the money and pay for it without any help or interference from the County, State or federal.

County government neglects their most important infrastructure and pisses away the funds they do get through taxes. Counties don’t keep their water and sanitary sewer systems maintained and don’t replace sewer lines before they break.  They don’t maintain and replace water distribution lines, so leaks create sink holes and streets are destroyed.  Counties don’t maintain creeks, so rain water floods homes around the creeks.  Counties don’t maintain and replace bridges and roads or expand roads to mitigate gridlock.

County school boards continue to spend most of their money knocking down school buildings and building new ones. They fund these through property taxes and sales taxes (SPLOSTS). They waste money paying interest on Bonds, when they could save half of what they spend by setting up accrual accounts.

State government thinks it is responsible for everything, so they subsidize everything they can to keep a big footprint they can’t handle. The federal government does the same.
