US colleges and
universities are eliminating their SAT and ACT test requirements. They will
base entry on grades, subjective diversity, liberal activism and ability to pay
or get a loan. This will strengthen their grip on indoctrination and increase
the focus on grades. They don’t want any objective criteria like ability.
Students who were born
in the 1940s and graduated college in the 1960s took, IQ tests and standardized
tests to measure basic skills and had to pass entrance exams to prep schools
and colleges. The goal was to admit the smartest students. There were no
“remedial” courses. 9.4% of the US population had BS degrees in 1965.
I was born in 1943 and
graduated HS in 1961 and was at the front end of this “baby boomer” generation.
I relied on my standardized test scores to track my skills. My exit exam score
from college in 1965 was very high. I relied on long-term retention. My courses
covered all schools of thought. It was a “classical” education. I remembered what made sense and rejected the
rest. I was the customer. I paid my own tuition in advance with my own earnings
and graduated in 3.5 years.
Students who were born
in the late 1960s and early 1970s known as Generation X were the last group to
win entry to college with their SAT or ACT standardized test scores. Liberal indoctrination was introduced and
visible in the 1980s with gender neutral job titles they made fun of.
Following generations
saw an avalanche of propaganda and indoctrination. Colleges had “remedial”
courses because most students couldn’t read, write or do math. College entrance
opened up to students who lacked basic skills and standards plummeted. Now 35% of the US population have BS degrees
and most of these degrees are occupationally useless. What is important is what
you know that is true and useful and that can be found on the internet. The
best education is self-education.
Colleges want students
to rely exclusively on the fake grades they earn by accepting all Liberal
indoctrination. They want students to be totally dependent on pleasing their
professors. The only students who need to endure this propaganda are those
pursuing occupational degrees in engineering, accounting, nursing, etc. They
need to be inner-directed. Everybody else would do well to avoid colleges for
now. It’s too expensive and toxic.
Through the 1800s,
education was homeschooled, tutored and self–taught except for wealthy large
city dwellers who established schools using the Prussian Model. US literacy was
high due to home-based bible reading, book borrowing, Occupational training
came from parents and apprentice programs. In families and one-room school
houses established in small communities older students helped teach reading and
math to younger students. Students themselves were primarily responsible for
their own education. This gave students the freedom and initiative to become
self-reliant.
As the Deep State took
over education and assumed responsibility, student initiative was diminished
and costs rose to levels that are now unsustainable for content that is highly
questionable propaganda and indoctrination.
