Decades ago, Andy Griffith explained the 4^th Amendment to Opie in an episode of the Andy Griffith Show.  Andy explained to Opie that a recording of a private conversation was a violation of our right to privacy.  That was before judges approved of violating rights.  See the youtube video below:
