None of this public transit is economically
sustainable. It’s a money loser for that
taxpayers forever. The cost of building
and opening these systems accounts for a large chunk of the “hundreds of billions”,
but the operating and maintenance costs still don’t allow these systems to
operate at “break-even”.
This is a bad business plan and needs to be
replaced by “free market” solutions. We
need to return these to the private sector to fix or close and replace with
something that is financially sustainable.
It looks like they are in a battle to compete
with private airline and bus services with taxpayers paying the
difference. But even with heavy taxpayer
subsidies, utilization is poor. All we
see is empty buses and empty train cars. We are paying a fortune in tax dollars
for empty trains and buses.
All of these “transportation” tax subsidies
should stop. California should have spent their “hundreds of billions” on water
reservoirs.
