Constitutionalist Party

If we are having trouble convincing the Republican Party to agree with and implement our reforms, why not organize a 3rd Party ?
This happened in 1992 when Ross Perot decided to run for President.  The end result was that his voters, me included, split the Republican vote and Bill Clinton, the Democrat won. United We Stand was established as a 3rd party for this election.  The primary issue was NAFTA.  Perot said if we pass NAFTA, we will hear that “great sucking sound” as our jobs will be sent overseas.  He was right.
The Libertarian Party, also a registered political party promotes all of what Constitutionalist want, but they went the extra mile and included the legalization of illegal drugs. We think these drugs, including marijuana are harmful, but possession should be punished with a fine, not jail time. Drug cartel members should go to jail.
We appreciate the Libertarian arguments that we should not allow laws designed to protect us from ourselves and decriminalization would solve a lot of problems.  Libertarians do not embrace social conservative issues as a Party. This prevents Christian Constitutionalists from joining.
Constitutionalists do not demand pressing social issues because saving our sovereignty and our economy is the first order of business.
Both Constitutionalists and Libertarians agree that some social issues are important and need to be addressed to restore the US Constitution, but they are not the right issues tactically right now.
We are all watching to see if the Republican Party will play hardball to pull us back from the brink of destruction.  We will know more soon when we see who they allow to run for President in 2016.
We believe that poor and middle class Americans would benefit from our policies. Many recovering Democrats agree.
Norb Leahy, Dunwoody GA Tea Party Leader
