Modern Church 1800-2019


In the 6th and latest Chapter, the Church witnessed the modernization of nations and the implementation of technology that began in the 1200s.

Protestants founded the US in 1789 and wrote the US Constitution to support a meritocracy with freedom, property rights and a free market capitalist economy.

There have been 16 Popes since 1800 in the past 219 years, with tenures averaging 13.7 years. These Popes have seen great technological advances in standards of living and devastating wars.

Our standard of living improved markedly from 1800 to 2018, due to the discoveries we made and applied from the 1400s to the 1800s. We have increased productivity and continue to advance technology.

The Christian Church was freed from government influence, but continues to influence our cultures. The Church needs to remain independent and use its influence to support things that work.

There are 2.4 billion Christians on the planet. 1.2 billion are Catholic and 1.2 billion are Protestant. Christians account for 31% of the global population

There are 3.4 billion non-Christians in 3 large religions. 1.8 billion are Muslims, 1.1 billion Hindus and 535 million Buddhists,  Non-Christians account for 44% of the global population.

There are 7.7 billion people on the planet.
