You need a roof over
your head that you own and is paid for. Families need to buy single family
homes and pay off their mortgages as quickly as possible. It could take from 15
to 30 years to eliminate your mortgage payment from your budget. Home values
appreciate in value and the home you buy will increase in value. Your home is
like a savings account. This will cost interest expense, but is the best
investment you can make. Paying rent is a waste of money.
Every family needs a
source of income that will cover the cost of home ownership, food, car
payments, utilities and other expenses. Household income determines where you
can live. The exurbs in rural counties are the least expensive areas to live.
If you can handle a 30 mile commute to work you can have a lower cost of
living.
The most common source
of income is wages earned from jobs.
Everyone needs to find out what they are good at and love to do in order
to select these occupations.
The next most common
source of income is business ownership. If you own a lawnmower you can have a
business. If you have a skill and a customer you can have a business. You can
avoid paying rent if you can base your business in your home or in a building
you own on land you own.
