Palestine was part of
the Ottoman Empire until the end of World War I. The Ottoman Empire included
Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, Iraq and the west coast of Saudi Arabia
on the Red Sea.
World War I began in 1914, after the assassination
of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and lasted until 1918. During the conflict, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire (the Central
Powers) fought against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan and the United States (the
Allied Powers).
In the peace talks that followed the end of the
war, parts of the Ottoman Empire were handed over to the French to control and parts were
handed over to the British – including Palestine. Britain governed this area
under a League of Nations mandate from 1920 to 1948
In fact, historically, there was never an independent
country named Palestine.
... So, the historical record says that Palestine was never a country, and was rarely ever an intact entity. At most it
was a geographic entity.
Jordan and Iraq were
established by the British. Syria and Lebanon were established by the French
after 1918. Israel was established in 1948. Muslims saw this as a land grab.
The UN established a
refugee camp that never ended and became “Palestine”. Saudi Arabia emptied its
prisons and mental hospitals and bussed them to Palestine.
Muslims have attacked
Israeli settlements since 1948 and these attacks have never ended.
Palestine has a
population of 4.8 million, a land area of 2.4 thousand square miles and an $8
billion Nominal GDP. Exports are $83.7 million. Imports are $460 million.
Unemployment is 30%
Israel has a
population of 9 million, a land area of 8.5 thousand square miles and a $391
billion Nominal GDP.
The Palestine-based
Islamic terror group Hamas controls Gaza and continues to bomb Israel with
rockets from Iran.
Israel has attempted
to have peaceful relations with the Muslims for the past 71 years from 1948 to
2019.
