Fixing Healthcare

Government needs to get out of healthcare. Obamacare needs to be repealed and not replaced. It is not a federal enumerated power. States should also deregulate healthcare and repeal laws that add to costs.

Health Insurance consumers should be allowed to select the coverage they want and be offered a range of policies based on consumer needs. Coverages should not be bundled. Each coverage should be based on risk and known costs and priced separately.

Coverage for Preexisting Conditions should be by consumer choice. Those who have medical conditions that require regular treatment should be able to estimate the annual cost of this treatment. The additional cost of this coverage should be predictable.

Most health insurance consumers will want to carry catastrophic coverage that includes a maximum out-of-pocket guarantee. Coverage should be for “medically necessary” treatment.
