Cuba is in Trouble


Cuba’s population is 11 million. Poverty is 60%. Government pay is $20 per month. Average salary is $30 per month, Utilities cost $12 per month. Rent is $68 per month. Eggs are 54 cents per dozen and Bread is 48 cents a loaf.

Exports were $1.41 billion in 2017.

In 2017, Cuban government revenue was $54.52 billion and spending was $64.64 billion.

Cuba needs to grow its own wheat, milk and poultry to save $586 million on its trade balance. Cuba will lose revenue as tourism dries up. Cuba was promising that farmers would be able to buy their own land, but that hasn’t happened. Cuba’s trade balance is negative. They import $6.2 billion and export $1.41 billion.
