Cobb SPLOST Close

Cobb residents spoke loud and clear on Tuesday, agreeing by a substantial 52.83 to 47.17 percent margin to extend the current 1 percent SPLOST for another six years to fund county roads, parks and public safety.  The Marietta Daily Journal
Despite the spin put on this vote by the pro-tax MDJ, this was a close vote.  Lance Lamberton and the Cobb Taxpayer Association did a great job campaigning against this 6 year SPLOST, but Project bribes to cities and limited time and resources resulted in this 5% margin squeaker. This close vote should be a wake-up call to Cobb.
Cobb voters should continue to press the Cobb County Commission to address critical traffic mitigating and road widening and maintenance priorities, while continuing to question lower priority items.
Norb Leahy, Dunwoody GA Tea Party Leader
