Populism

The Left is talking. The CSPAN broadcast titled Populism and Global Politics at Johns Hopkins 4/3/17 is a good example of how Liberals are spinning the unwinding of the globalist movement in the US and Europe.

Liberals are hoping that economies do not improve, tipping off their strategy to do what they can to damage the economy, so that their Conservative opponents are discredited.

They report that the post war period from 1945 to 1970 was the time that the people were content with the “ruling elite”. They cite the 1960s as the decade when existing institutions were questioned. They cite the 1970s as the time when the current mood of economic discontent began. But they dodge all evidence that the Liberals caused the problems.

They see the trend toward “majority rule” as a problem. They blame “racism” as the cause of the trend in Europe and the US and they cite migration as the cause. They continue to insist that ‘people should get better at assimilating other cultures’.

They admit that the majority is resisting because they are not comfortable with other races or cultures. They claim that these people resist change to retain their “identity”.

They suggest that this resistance movement could be mollified by bribing the “majority” to retain liberal policies. To the Left, we are still “rats in the maze”, ready to be manipulated again.

The Left is not admitting that they went too far and the “Populist Movement” they are wringing their hands over is a natural reaction to their overreach they should have anticipated.
