Propaganda on TV
Stuff on TV was first entertaining.
Programming changed to make it “more instructive” when media companies bought
up the TV production companies.
The left is currently broadcasting Left
Wing Friendly programs to garner support to protect their big government
agenda. Programming is up on the benefits of having Federal Parks, so we are
getting to see these without having to go there. These are mostly on Public
Television Channels.
CSPAN is currently broadcasting Left Wing
hand-wringing panels who are attempting to spin their agenda to make it sound
more palatable. But they are really revealing their strategy.
TV Programs
TV programming was initially determined by
what was popular on radio, live performance vaudeville and movies. Radio was a
way to bring news and entertainment into the home. Radio had news, sports,
music, drama and comedy.
TV brought the visual element radio
lacked. It reduced the need to see live performances and go to the movie
theater or sports stadium. In the 1950s, you could see stage shows, musical
shows, comedy performances, sports, movies and cartoons. .
In the 1960s and 1970s, TV had a ton of
variety shows with lots of music and comedy to accompany news and movies. There
was a popular music renaissance, but the US economy was riddled with inflation.
By the 1980s, the variety shows stopped
and movies dominated the TV. Reagan had been elected and the Left needed to gin
up the propaganda. Schools were dumbing down and a new crop of sheep needed to
be influenced.
Baywatch showed overpaid California
lifeguards driving new cars and living in nice apartments. The same for Cop
shows and Firefighter shows. They were suggesting that we get government jobs.
Jerry Springer was the first bad behavior show, but these have increased beyond
reason
TV still has sports, cartoons, old movies
and reruns of some variety shows, but a new crop of programs have appeared.
Naked and Afraid, living in Alaska and a
host of outdoor programs show how to survive after our economy tanks.
The Ancient Alien Theorist show suggests
that there probably is no God.
Crime stories permeate the TV options
Buying Junk to restore and resell and home
repair and upgrading shows give us some practical knowledge.
Shows about food and travel and factory
tours allow us to see these places without having to travel there.
Spanish and Chinese Channels are abundant
Shopping channels now peddle mostly jewelry.
TV programming morphed from entertainment
in the 1950s to include a lot of indoctrination in the 1980s.
