The Department of Redundancy Department
US Federal programs have expanded
unnecessarily over decades, but they are seldom ended, even when the reason for
their creation is long gone. The concept of redundancy is best known from the
military including duplicate means of firing a weapon in case part of the
triggering mechanism is damaged.
Redundancy in federal programs is caused
by planned political crises that send legislators scrambling to address the
“problem”. This bolsters their ideological arsenal to build bureaucracies to
further ideological objectives. Unfortunately, all of these bureaucracies
advance socialism and damage the US economy.
We saw an unacceptable amount of federal
government waste and abuse in the Obama administration with the implementation
of UN Agenda 21 that posed real threats to our economy, freedom and standard of
living.
We saw earlier abuse and neglect with the
passage of laws like the Community Reinvestment Act of 1993 and HUD
anti-discrimination rules that led to the 2008 Financial Meltdown.
We saw abuse by the EPA, the Interior
Department and other agencies that expanded federal lands, threaten a 5-fold
increase in our electric bills, seize our property and water, implement the
Wilding Project, thwart our private property rights and use the Delphi
Technique to feign voter participation.
Trump has frozen federal government hiring
and is cutting budgets in most departments to cut waste. I expect Democrats to
attempt to derail all of Trump’s proposed spending cuts as soon as the budget
process begins.
