CONFIRMED: US Border Patrol Agents Hit with Projectiles Thrown by Violent Honduran Migrants, , 11/25/18.

The US Customs and Border Protection confirmed Sunday evening that US border patrol agents were hit with projectiles thrown by violent Honduran migrants at the San Ysidro port of entry.

Hundreds of Honduran migrants pushed past Mexican riot police and rushed towards the US border Sunday.

A few dozen military-aged male Hondurans broke the border fence in Tijuana at the San Ysidro port of entry and were eventually repelled by tear gas.

The defiant migrants violently threw rocks and other projectiles at border patrol agents then scattered after pepper balls and tear gas was deployed.

Fox News reported Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said in a statement that some migrants “attempted to breach legacy fence infrastructure along the border and sought to harm CBP personnel by throwing projectiles at them.

“As I have continually stated, DHS will not tolerate this type of lawlessness and will not hesitate to shut down ports of entry for security and public safety reasons,” Nielsen said. “We will also seek to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law anyone who destroys federal property, endangers our frontline operators, or violates our nation’s sovereignty.”

The projectiles hit US border patrol agents; the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

CBP: Today, several migrants threw projectiles at the agents in San Diego. Border Patrol agents deployed tear gas to dispel the group because of the risk to agents’ safety. Several agents were hit by the projectiles. The situation is evolving and a statement is forthcoming.

Mexico is deporting about 500 migrants who violently tried to cross the border Sunday.
