Republicans, Don’t Let Liberals set the Agenda
A parade of Liberal politicians are urging Republicans to
“work together” with Democrats, because everybody wants them to “get things
done”. This is Liberal code-speak to
keep Republicans from beating them over the head on Obamacare, Immigration and
unnecessary regulations. Democrats would rather pack the agenda with light fare
like the medical device tax, infrastructure, foreign policy, military readiness
and lots of other chaff. The Democrats
are launching countermeasures here.
Outmaneuver Obama
Republicans need to outmaneuver Obama and Send Repeal
Bills, then send Bills repealing pieces of bad laws, then defund the activity
to stop it.
To end the damaging effects of Obamacare, Republicans
need to send the Obamacare Repeal Bill to Obama for a veto, then sending the repeal
of the worst pieces of Obamacare like the “mandates”, the 30 hour workweek and
unneeded coverage; refuse insurance company bail-outs and not offer any funding
for subsidies and wait for a veto; then defund Obamacare implementation. I would use this model to kill bad
legislation immediately. Anything short
of this will result in disaster for Republicans.
If Republicans think this “proper” approach will take too
long, they should move immediately to defunding all the bad laws.
Voters get it
Voters figured out that they had screwed up in 2012 by
letting Obama be elected for a second term, so they gave Republicans the Senate
in 2014.
Damage Control
Republicans need to shake the image of being the “stupid
Party”. Republicans need to keep Mitch McConnell off camera. Ted Cruz is the best spokesperson for Rush
Limbaugh’s strategy so far. I think Jeff
Sessions is a good one for immigration and Rand Paul for unnecessary regulations.
Mitch could run the “back room”. Republican Senators should not reelect Mitch
McConnell to lead the Senate unless he agrees to use the Limbaugh model.
The Republican camera response should include their
urgency to undo “job killing” policies as quickly as possible.
