Mike Scupin reported to the Georgia House
Committee on the role of the federal government in education. He reminded them
that under the U.S. Constitution there is no role for the federal government in
education. It is not one of the enumerated powers assigned to the federal
government in the Constitution (as written). The 10th Amendment
leaves education to the states and the people.
Mike reminded the committee that up until the
1930s, the U.S. had the best education system in the world. Federal involvement
has ruined education.
Mr. Scupin is the Vice President of the Georgia Grassroots
Coalition. Presently, the members represent some 181,000 citizens of Georgia.
Hopefully, his report will give Georgia House Reps the
incentive to demand that the Georgia Legislature join the voters of Georgia and
finally reject Common Core completely.
