First,
some history: The TV Networks from
the 1950s to 1980s before cable included NBC, ABC and CBS plus local
programming all accessed by an antenna.
In the 1980s, cable TV was marketed to expand channels with multiple
offerings. Like radio, the National TV channels were used politically to
further standardize the “culture”. Television programming was good, but that
ended in the 1980s.
The
US Media companies began to merge “content providers” with “network providers”
to establish fads that produced consumer goods. They consolidated into a
handful of giant media companies and newspapers consolidated as well.
Now
AT&T, Comcast, National Amusements and Disney control most TV and movie
content and provider networks.
AT&T
owns Warner Media that owns Turner Broadcasting (TBS). It runs old movies, some
sports and mindless sitcoms and trash programming. It also owns CNN and Warner
Brothers Studios. Time magazine was sold off.
Disney
owns 20th Century Fox that owns Fox Entertainment and Fox Network.
Disney also owns ABC Network, ESPN
(Sports) and Disney Channel.
Comcast
owns NBC, the USA Network and MSNBC. MSNBC is the socialist globalist
propaganda channel. NBC owns
Universal Pictures.
National
Amusements owns Viacom (CBS). CBS
owns NICK. It also owns Paramount Pictures.
There
are a few prominent independent companies that include New Fox, Netflix,
Lionsgate and Sony Pictures.
Fox
News (FNC), Fox Business News, Fox Sports and Fox Broadcasting Company are
owned by New Fox that appears to be independent.
Sony
Corporation owns Sony Entertainment that owns Sony Pictures that makes movies.
.FOX NEWS CRUSHES CNN AND MSNBC IN
RATINGS, HAS MORE VIEWERS THAN BOTH NETWORKS COMBINED, By Benny
Johnson | Reporter At Large, 10/10/18,
Daily Caller.
Fox
News maintained its position as “King of Cable” last week during
the dramatic confirmation hearings and subsequent vote for Supreme Court
Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Fox
crushed rivals CNN and MSNBC in all demographics. Nielsen Media Research
reports that, from October 1 through October 7, Fox News more than
doubled the viewership of CNN and MSNBC in total viewers for both primetime and
total daily viewers.
Hannity was the most watched cable show in
the country averaging 4.4 million total viewers. Tucker Carlson Tonight and Ingraham Angle both clocked in with 3.7 million
viewers.
Ultimately,
a total of five Fox News shows had more viewers than the most-watched cable news show
on MSNBC.
Hannity,
Tucker Carlson Tonight, The Ingraham Angle,
The Five and Special Report with Bret
Baier all
beat The Rachel Maddow
Show in total
viewers. (Tucker Carlson is a founder of The Daily Caller.)
Last
week was also the highest rated week of
the year for Fox
News in total day viewers. Fox News also clocked in its highest rated Saturday
in two decades with 3.3 million total viewers. Saturday was the day of the
contentious Kavanaugh vote in the Senate and the corresponding progressive
protesters that stormed the Supreme Court.
Even
with the booming ratings from the drama around the Kavanaugh vote, CNN was
unable to crack into the top 5 for cable networks. CNN was beat by Home And Garden TV in total viewers and just barely bested The
Hallmark Channel.
