For almost 30
centuries—from its unification around 3100 B.C. to its conquest by Alexander
the Great in 332 B.C.—ancient Egypt was the preeminent civilization in the
Mediterranean world.
Egypt began in
the Nile Delta and moved down the Nile and up the Medeterranian.
In 1450 BC, Egypt
extended down the Nile South into Sudan, bordered the Red Sea and extended up
the Medeterranian coast to Turkey. The Hittites were in Turkey. The Assyrians
were in Syria. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Egypte_1450_v.Chr.svg
1450 BC is also the
date the Exodus was thought to have occurred.
The Egyptian Empire
was absorbed by the Roman Empire in 30 BC.
