Palestine is a failed state. Palestine has the resources to become self-sufficient, but that has not been a priority. Their main focus of Palestine has been to hate Israel. Ramallah, located in the West Bank, currently serves as the de facto administrative capital of the Palestinian Authority. Mahmoud Abbas has been the President of Palestine since January 2005.

On 15 November 1988, the Palestine Liberation Organization proclaimed the State of Palestine (SoP). Yasser Arafat, the Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization, assumed the title "President of Palestine".
