South America will adjust to the new conditions being imposed by US trade balance changes. Their unique tropical agriculture gives them the opportunity to continue to expand globally. They will need to continue to employ productivity-advancing technologies to remain competitive. Their manufacturing and raw material extraction capabilities should continue to grow. They will certainly benefit from technological advances in the US.
