Foreign-Owned and US-Based companies are expanding manufacturing in the US to avoid Tariffs.

Henkel and ALPLA Partner For $130M Investment in Kentucky, 8/20/19. Business Facilities. The partnership's expansion project will enhance laundry detergent production in Bowling Green, KY and is expected to create up to 60 full-time jobs.

Rivacold Creating 140 Jobs In Georgia, 8/20/19. Business Facilities. The Italian refrigeration systems manufacturer will invest $5 million at its first U.S. facility in Gwinnett County, GA. Rivacold, a manufacturer of refrigeration systems, will create 140 jobs and invest $5 million in a new manufacturing facility in Gwinnett County, GA. The newly created jobs will include skilled positions in manufacturing.

Sequel Wire And Cable Investing $53M In Indiana, 8/15/19, Business Facilities. The wire fabrication startup will establish operations in Marshall County, IN, and expects to create 120 new jobs by the end of 2024.
 
Adornus Cabinetry Launching Operations In South Carolina, 8/15/19, Business Facilities.
The cabinet and vanity manufacturer will invest more than $10 million in its Lancaster County, SC manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters, creating 210 jobs.

Faith Technologies, Excellerate Manufacturing Expanding In Kansas, 8/12/19, Business Facilities. Headquartered in Wisconsin, Faith Technologies provides Design engineering planning, manufacturing and installation of custom construction projects. The new 450,000-square-foot facility in Olathe, KS is expected to add more than 780 positions over the next few years.

Arglass Yamamura Chooses Georgia For First U.S. Glass Plant, 8/12/19, Business Facilities.
The glass container manufacturing company will invest $123 million and create more than 150 new jobs at its new Valdosta, GA.

AirBorn Breaks Ground On Pennsylvania Expansion, 8/9/19, Business Facilities.
The electronics manufacturer is investing $3.7 million in Lake City, PA to double the size of its footprint in Erie County and add up to 249 new jobs with completion by 2020.

Greenbrier Investing $16M In Arkansas Expansion, 8/8/19. Business Facilities.
The Oregon-based freight railcar and marine barge manufacturer will create at least 35 jobs at its Marmaduke, AR facility.

Airbus Begins A220 Production At Alabama Facility, 8/7/19. Business Facilities. The aircraft manufacturer will add a second assembly line and hire more than 400 new workers at its Mobile facility.

ATN Hoelzel Investing $6M In Tennessee Expansion, Relocation. 8/6/19. The automotive supplier will create 100 new jobs in Chattanooga at a new facility that will function as its North American headquarters.

Auto Truck Group Expanding Indiana Operations, 8/1/19, Business Facilities.
The work truck upfitter will invest more than $6 million in a new, 72,000-square-foot facility in Allen County, and create up to 50 new jobs.

Pietro Fiorentini  - Italian Manufacturer Celebrates New West Virginia Factory, 7/29/19, Business Facilities. Pietro Fiorentini invested $9 million to build the new manufacturing plant in Weirton, WV, its first in the U.S. 
Based in Italy, Pietro Fiorentini has been operating out of rented space in Wheeling since 2013. The company is a world leader in the production of pressure regulators, metering systems and other components for the natural gas industry. Currently, the company manufactures a production line for service regulators, three production lines for line pressure regulators and operates three CNC machining centers. The plant will employ 600 well-paying positions.



Steel Dynamics Chooses Texas For New Flat Roll Steel Mill, 7/23/19, Business Facilities.
Sinton, TX, 30 miles North of Corpus Christi, will be the location of the company's previously announced $1.9 billion state-of-the-art, electric-arc-furnace (EAF) flat roll steel mill. 
According to Millett, the planned new EAF flat roll steel mill will be the most technologically advanced facility existing today, allowing the company to achieve steel grades previously out of reach to thin-slab casting technology. The company expects to begin construction early 2020, followed by the commencement of operations mid-2021.



Preci-Dip, Swiss Manufacturer Investing $13.6M In First U.S. Facility, 7/19/19. Preci-Dip will create 100 jobs at its new electronic connector pin manufacturing facility in Bryan County, GA.
Founded in 1976, Preci-Dip is the leading manufacturer of military and aerospace-grade connectors, specializing in the manufacture of electronic connector pins and the screw machine equipment necessary for producing them.John Mayer, who has more than 30 years of experience with Swiss screw machining and manufacturing engineering, will be the head of operations for Preci-Dip in the United States.


ABB Selects North Carolina Facility For $40M Expansion, 7/18/19, Business Facilities. The global industrial company will create more than 400 jobs at its current facility in Mebane, NC.

ABB, Inc., a global leader in electrification products, robotics, and industrial automation, will expand its current facility in Mebane, North Carolina, creating more than 400 jobs in Orange County NC and investing up to $39.9 million to upgrade equipment and increase the size of its plant. With global headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, and its U.S. headquarters in Cary, NC, involved in electrification, industrial automation, motion, robotics and discrete automation, and power grids. ABB operates in more than 100 countries with about 147,000 employees worldwide.



Cree Inc. Investing $1 Billion In North Carolina, 7/18/19, Business Facilities. The five-year investment will expand Cree’s silicon carbide capacity with a fabrication facility in Durham, NC. fueling its silicon carbide and GaN business. Upon completion in 2024. 


Motus Integrated Technologies Creating 90 New Jobs In Alabama, 7/17/19, Business Facilities.
The interior automotive parts supplier will invest over $15 million and create 90 new jobs at its new manufacturing facility in Gadsden, AL.


Gerhardi Inc. Opens First U.S. Plant In Alabama, 7/11/19, Business Facilities. The German auto supplier Gerhardi, Inc. invested $41.6 million and will employ up to 235 employees at the Montgomery, AL manufacturing facility. The plant will employee up to 235 employees. 
The company first announced the project in 2016. Based in Lüdenscheid, Germany, Gerhardi employs approximately 1,400 workers at four production plants throughout Germany with annual sales totaling approximately $200 million.



Sub-Zero Group Investing $70M In Wisconsin Expansion, 7/2/19, Business Facilities. The premium appliance manufacturer will create 100 jobs as it adds a 350,000-square-foot R&D facility in Fitchburg. Sub-Zero Group Inc., an industry leader in premium refrigeration, cooking and dishwashing appliances, is expanding its operations in Fitchburg, WI with a new 350,000-square-foot research and development facility. The $70 million project is expected to create 100 jobs over the next three years. Founded in 1945, the third-generation, family-owned company is headquartered in Madison, WI and currently operates manufacturing facilities in Fitchburg and Goodyear, AZ. The new facility will serve as a research and development center that will drive innovation for next-generation products.



RADA Technologies Plans New HQ In Maryland, 7/8/19, Business Facilities. The aerospace and defense electronics company will add 80 new jobs in Montgomery County by December 2023.
RADA produces electronics for the aerospace and defense industry, is planning a new headquarters in Germantown, MD, including a research and development and manufacturing operation. 



GE Appliances Investing $130M In Georgia, 6/21/19. Business Facilities. GE will expand its operations at three locations throughout the state, creating a total of 300 new jobs. GE Appliances (GEA) will expand its operations in Georgia through three investment and job growth initiatives in the state.



Navistar To Invest $125 Million In Alabama, 6/20/19, Business Facilities. The commercial truck and bus manufacturer’s expansion will bring an additional 145 jobs to Huntsville, AL.


Metalsa Structural Products Investing $6.4M In Virginia, 6/19/19, Business Facilities. The Mexico-based automotive solutions company will create 25 new jobs with an expansion of its Roanoke manufacturing operations in Botetourt County, VA. Metalsa Structural Products, Inc., an automotive solutions provider, will invest $6.4 million to expand its Roanoke manufacturing operation in Botetourt County. The company also considered Mexico for the project, which will create 25 new jobs in Virginia. The company manufactures structural components for the light and commercial vehicle industry. Its product list includes chassis frames, cross members, suspension modules, fuel systems, and body structural stampings and assemblies for passenger cars and light trucks, as well as chassis frames and side rails for heavy trucks and buses. Metalsa-Roanoke currently employs over 230 workers at its Botetourt County facility.


Boise Cascade Investing $17.5M In South Carolina Expansion, 6/13/19, Business Facilities.
Boise Cascade Company will expand its existing operations in Chester County, SC. The engineered wood products and plywood maker and building products distributor is investing an additional $17.5 million in the facility in a series of upgrade projects.


Modula Will Invest $26.5M In Ohio, 6/11/19, Business Facilities. The Italy-based advanced manufacturing company will create 100 jobs at the Cincinnati Region's historic Dayton Daily News Building.


Chinese Steel Wheels Manufacturer Chooses Indiana, 6/12/19, Business Facilities. 
The company, IWC, is a joint venture led by China-based Jingu Company Limited (Jingu), will invest nearly $23 million to purchase, renovate and equip a 300,000-square-foot production facility in Plymouth. The new facility will undergo immediate on-site infrastructure improvements, and will feature more than $14.5 million of state-of-the-art, specially-designed equipment to support IWC’s manufacturing operations for the trailer and recreational vehicle (RV) industries. Upgrades will begin this summer with production expected to start later this year. IWC plans to add 60 full-time employees toward its goal of 117 by the end of 2019. With its investment in IWC, Jingu will add a major U.S. location to complement its global steel wheel manufacturing operations. Jingu, a publicly-traded, tier-one supplier for leading automotive companies such as General Motors, Volkswagen and Ford Motor Company, is the largest steel wheel manufacturer in China. IWC joins a network of more than 950 foreign-owned business establishments operating in Indiana, including more than 21 China-based businesses, including SF Motors, BWI North America, Westfield Outdoors and Nanshan America Advanced Aluminum Tech.



Adornus Cabinetry, LLC, a leading manufacturer and distributor of kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, will establish manufacturing operations in Lancaster County, SC. The more than $10 million investment is expected to create 210 new jobs. Operations are expected to be online in November 2019.

Faith Technologies, an energy expert and national leader in electrical planning, engineering, design and installation, will expand its operations to Olathe, KS. The company purchased a 450,000-square-foot building formerly occupied by PacSun. The new facility is expected to add more than 780 positions over the next few years.

Arglass Yamamura, LLC, a glass container manufacturing company, will create more than 150 jobs and invest $123 million to build its first U.S. glass container manufacturing plant in Valdosta-Lowndes County, GA. Arglass Yamamura is a joint venture partnership between Japan-based Nihon Yamamura Glass Co., Ltd. and Cambium Arglass, a privately-held investment company. 

ATN Hoelzel LP will invest $6 million to expand its manufacturing operations and relocate its North American headquarters in Chattanooga, TN. The automotive supplier expects to create 100 new jobs in Hamilton County over the next five years. The U.S. manufacturing facility has become our second largest plant worldwide and perfectly complements our German Production and Services offered at the headquarters in Saxony, Germany.” Tennessee is home to more than 120 German-owned companies that employ nearly 20,000 Tennesseans. 

Pella Corporation, a leading manufacturer of window and door products for residential and commercial use, will create 124 jobs at its new manufacturing facility in Rockingham County NC. The company will invest nearly $20 million in the new operation and hiring will begin in the fourth quarter of 2019. Founded in 1925, Pella is a family-owned company. The company is headquartered in Pella, IA and employs more than 7,000 people. Pella will create a variety of positions in Rockingham County, and the average salaries will be $41,648, above the county average of $35,401.

Motus Integrated Technologies has selected the City of Gadsden, AL as the location for its new manufacturing facility. The Tier 1 supplier of automotive interior products will invest over $15 million and create 90 new jobs at the Etowah County facility, which will manufacture interior automotive parts and headliners.Construction of the facility is slated to start in the coming weeks and should be complete in mid-2020. The company will produce interior and exterior plastic automotive parts at the state-of-the-art injection molding, electroplating and assembly plant in Montgomery AL.
